Immersion Electric Heaters Electrolux
Tubular elements are commonly used in immersion heater applications because they are comparatively inexpensive to manufacture as compared with other heating systems - hence their appeal in domestic, industrial and commercial applications. They are available in a variety of tube materials, diameters with a host of fittings. Immersion heaters come in a variety of forms; with the most common being glanded, over-the-side and flanged.
Types of Immersion Electric Heaters
Glanded Immersion Heaters
These heaters are most suitable for permanent installation into sheet metal containers, tanks, vats, etc. They can be manufactured in a wide range of sizes, ratings and sheath materials to suit.
Information is required includes dimensions of container, restrictions inside tank if any, and particulars of the liquid to be heated.
Over the Side Immersion Heaters
Tubular over-the-side immersion heaters are designed for use in liquids or solutions where easy removal of heaters for periodic inspection or cleaning is necessary, and where modification to an existing tank is impracticable to suit other forms of heating. The portability of over-the-side immersion heaters allows for multiple heaters to be easily added and removed as required.
Used mainly in the metal finishing industry where acids and other liquid chemicals are heated. Splashes and spillages are no longer a concern as the electrical termination is totally encapsulated in a rubber molding, thus eliminating the problem of moisture causing premature electrical failure.
Flanged Immersion Heaters
EHE manufacture a varied range of flanged immersion heaters for direct immersion into water, oils, resins, food stuffs and many other liquids and gases. A standard immersion heater consists of a number of robust hairpin shaped tubular heating elements welded or glanded into a blind pipe flange. All units have heaters in multiples of three for use with single or 3 phase power supply, and are terminated in a protective steel junction box. This type of unit gives simple, low cost installation, 100% heating efficiency generated within the solution, and minimum resistance to the circulation of solutions to be heated.
The immersion units have standard pipe flanges and are easily installed through a matching companion flange fitted to the product tank. This makes EHE Immersion Heaters suitable for a variety of positions in tanks, vats, pipes or irregular shaped vessels.
Circulation Heaters
EHE circulation heaters are designed to heat liquids or gases which flow through pipework on either a recirculating or single pass basis. Using the appropriate flanged immersion heater as a heat source, and with the addition of baffles and a barrel to create a cross flow effect over the heaters. In-line circulation heater are ideal for the remote heating of storage vessels and materials as they flow through process pipework.
Systems range from small 5 kW to a mammoth 400 kW and can have single or multiple chambers. They can be mounted vertically or horizontally - manufactured to heat oils, waters, chemicals and gases.
Drum Immersion Heaters
EHE carry a full range of Drum heaters including direct immersion heaters specifically designed for standard size storage drums.
